Cubic has started developing a system designed to speed up the issuance of training gear to military personnel based on a payment tracking technology used at subways, Defense One reported Thursday.

“There would be tags and information in there on a card, and a soldier would just be able to walk either through a“¦notional area,“ Mike Knowles, president of Cubic“™s global defense business, said of the proposed system. “Because of the technology, we“™ll be able to pick up signals between who they are and what gear they have. We“™ll be able to pair that information.“

“We anticipate [that] where issue and receipt for 1,000 people might have taken us half a day, we“™ll be able to do that in a matter of minutes now,“ he added.
