John Sorensen, a 35-year information technology industry veteran and former Symantec executive, has been appointed vice president of global sales strategy and execution at Forcepoint.
He will report to Forcepoint Chief Revenue Officer Kevin Isaac and be responsible for helping drive the cybersecurity firm's growth targets through an enterprise-class customer experience, the company said Tuesday.
Sorensen will also help promote the Converged Security Platform to security professionals who seek cloud-based technology to safeguard IT systems from cyber threats.
"Forcepoint’s philosophy of putting users and data at the center of security architectures is very different to legacy cybersecurity firms and offers huge potential to organizations looking to unlock value from today’s complex IT environments,†he said.
Prior to Forcepoint, he served as a senior VP of global sales at Symantech and held leadership roles at McAfee and RSA Security.
