Josh Jackson, executive vice president and general manager of solutions and technology group at Science Applications International Corp., said SAIC collaborates with approximately 12 space startups through accelerators in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Austin to facilitate the delivery of technology platforms to U.S. government clients, SpaceNews reported Friday.

“Our goal is to understand the landscape of emerging technologies that could be applied to government missions, and then help be that bridge between those government mission challenges and the emerging technologies that are starting up,” he told the publication in an interview at the 35th Space Symposium.

Jackson noted SAIC currently assesses Boston, Los Angeles and the Silicon Valley as potential locations for its third startup hub.

“We are looking at where else should we tap,” Jackson said. “It’s a geography thing. We are tapping into geographies where it makes sense from a customer as well as a capability standpoint.”
