Randy James, a senior vice president at ICF, has said the Department of Defense and other public sector agencies should work together to build up efforts in order to ensure mission assurance.
James wrote in a Nextgov article published Monday that the current global security landscape calls for government agency leaders to collaborate with their counterparts across national security, defense and intelligence agencies to come up with “coordinated mission assurance plans.â€
“All efforts must be built to respond to asymmetric threats to digital and physical infrastructure,†he added.
Government leaders should optimize mission assurance plans to facilitate interoperability and focus such plans on preparedness and resilience to ensure the operation of physical and digital assets prior, during and after attacks.
James noted that agency leaders should develop training programs for personnel and risk-oriented surveys for officials to raise awareness about national security threats.
