The Department of Defense is seeking small businesses that already have mature prototypes of their technologies and are ready for final development, evaluation and integration with military systems or programs to support national security.
It plans to grant up to $3M in Rapid Innovation Funding to each developer to complete their technologies, according to a FedBizOpps notice the Washington Headquarters Services issued Friday.
The agency mainly seeks technologies for networked command control and communications, hypersonics, space, cyber, machine learning and artificial intelligence, microelectronics, quantum science and missile defense, among others.
“The goals of the RIF program reflect the strategic approach of the National Defense Strategy: building a more lethal force, strengthening alliances and reforming DoD business processes,†the FBO notice states.
Invited parties can submit white papers to WHS from Feb. 12 to March 8. Work under the program is expected to take up to two years from date of contract award.
