Digital Realty to Provide IBM Cloud Private Access Across 15 Markets - top government contractors - best government contracting eventDigital Realty has announced it will extend IBM Cloud private access across 15 areas from around the globe.

The effort aims to provide enterprise application access to users in Amsterdam, Ashburn, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Miami, Phoenix, Portland, New York, Santa Clara, Seattle, Singapore, Sydney and Toronto, the IBM business partner said Monday.

Digital Realty’s Service Exchange platform will function to establish access that augments various deployments directly linked and hosted at the IBM Cloud. Users may coordinate physical and virtual connections at a single medium via Service Exchange.

The company is also offering three options for customers to select the level of IBM Cloud connectivity service that matches unique requirements. These include Direct Link Dedicated Hosting, Direct Link Connect and Direct Link Dedicated.

“Really what we’re announcing is IBM’s availability on our product called Service Exchange … It’s a switching fabric that enables a customer to take a physical fiber and connect into one of these hardware switches. And then from there you can connect to virtually any destination on it,” said Sean Iraca, Digital Realty’s vice president of service enablement, speaking with ExecutiveBiz Monday.

“We have Google, Amazon, Microsoft — all the large cloud providers — available on the exchange,” he added.
