Charles River Analytics will lead a development program for a toolkit that will help the U.S. Army determine the impact of fatigue and other causes of stress on soldiers and warfighting operations.
Peter Weyhrauch, vice president of the Cambridge, Mass.-based firm’s human effectiveness division, said in a statement published Friday that the military will leverage the Dynamic Representation for Evaluating the Effect of Moderators and Stress on Performance toolkit to understand fatigue and its effects on cognitive and physical performance.
“The growing complexity of modern warfare requires new ways to maintain soldier alertness and health on the battlefield,†he added.
The DREEMS development team will include Frank Ritter, professor of information sciences and technology at Pennsylvania State University; Christopher Dancy II, assistant professor of computer science at Bucknell University; and Victor Middleton, a more than 30-year vet on Army soldier system issues.
Charles River Analytics included the DREEMS project in its portfolio of human behavior and decision modeling.
