Leidos has been added to the 2017-2018 ‘Best for VETS’ Index of the Military Times for the company’s support for U.S. military veterans and their families and for three consecutive years on the publications’ rankings for employers of former service members.
The company said Thursday it is one of the 36 firms included in this year’s index. Inclusion in the index requires companies to have been on the Military Times Best for Vets Employers ranking for three consecutive years and have a market capitalization of at least $200 million.
The annual rankings survey recognizes companies based on military recruiting efforts, corporate culture, policies and support for reservists.
Leidos recruits and helps veterans transition to civilian life through the company’s Operation MVP outreach program for former warfighters and a military employee resource group.
“A commitment to the military and our veterans is one of our company’s core values and a key corporate responsibility,” said Alex Verhulst, Leidos Talent Acquisition Military Program Manager.
The company also partners with associations that provide assistance for the military community such as the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Hiring Our Heroes, and the United Services Organization.
Leidos has employed more than 4,500 veterans and military spouses since 2014.
