CAE‘s defense and security unit has opened a new office in Canberra, Australia, and exhibited company-built simulation products during the inauguration ceremony.
The company said Wednesday Christopher Pyne, Australian minister for defense industry, and Ian Bell, vice president and general manager of CAE’s operations in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, attended the formal opening of the office located at Brindabella Park.
The event featured virtual reality technology meant to aid familiarization and procedural training at a ground control station for remotely piloted aircraft operators and maintainers.
CAE offers training systems for C-130J, Hawk Mk127, KC-30A, MH-60R and MRH90 platforms and is part of a General Atomics-led industry team vying for the Australian military’s Project Air 7003.
The company serves as the prime contractor for Australia’s Maintenance and Support of ADF Aerospace Simulators and the Aerospace Simulation Through Life Support programs.
