Alion Science and Technology will assist the U.S. Army in efforts to research and develop weapons against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats under a 10-year, $8.3 billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The company said Thursday it will vie for task or delivery orders to provide CBRNE radiological and nuclear defense systems along with information systems for warfighters through the Army’s Joint Enterprise Research, Development, Acquisition and Production/Procurement omnibus contract.
Jeff Murter, deputy group manager for Alion’s rapid solutions business, said the company plans to use its modeling and simulation, miniaturization and wearable sensor R&D experience to help the service branch address CBRNE threats.
Alion is one of 170 awardees on the JE-RDAP contract announced in November of last year.
Work on the multiple-award contract will run through Nov. 1, 2027 and orders could extend for up to five years, the company noted.
