Five companies have formally submitted their interest to participate in the Polish defense ministry’s tender process for a fighter aircraft procurement effort, DefenseNews reported Thursday.
The report said Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Leonardo and Saab applied for an opportunity to offer their respective combat jet platforms to Poland’s “Harpia” program.
Warsaw-based Fights On Logistics sought participation in a market analysis phase slated to occur before the formal bidding process.
Tomasz Szatkowski, Polish deputy defense minister, said earlier this year that Warsaw could buy new fighter jets by 2025.
