BAE Systems‘ information and electronic systems integration unit has received $23.5 million contract from the U.S. Navy to supply AN/APX-111 identification friend-or-foe systems for installation on  the F/A-18 Hornet fighter aircraft.
The Defense Department said Friday the contract covers up to 142 AN/APX-111 Mode 5 interrogator/transponder devices, 195 Mode 5 upgrade kits, 52 integrations of Mode 5 upgrade kits, 235 shop replaceable assemblies and six test asset repairs.
Work will occur in Greenlawn, New York, and Austin, Texas, through December 2019.
The Naval Air Systems Command will obligate funds on each delivery order as they are issued.
