Air Force Taps Rockwell Collins for JSTARS Aircrew Training Device Logistics Support - top government contractors - best government contracting eventRockwell Collins has received a $7.4 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide contractor logistics support services for the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System‘s aircrew training device.

The Defense Department said Friday the company will provide simulation and training services for the JSTARS aircrew training device under the sole-source contract.

Northrop Grumman built the E-8C JSTARS platform, based on the Boeing 707-300 airframe, to serve as an airborne battle management, command and control and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance hub.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center obligated the full contract amount from Air National Guard’s fiscal2017 funds.

Rockwell Collins will perform work in Sterling, Virginia, and Robins Air Force Base in Georgia through Feb. 4, 2020.
