BAE Systems and Irving Shipbuilding have formed a new joint venture that will compete on Canada’s Arctic Offshore Patrol Ships and Joint Support Ship In-Service Support contract.
Canadian Naval Support Ltd. will combine Irving Shipbuilding’s technologies and BAE’s warship repair and maintenance expertise in pursuit of the AJISS program, BAE said Friday.
BAE added that CNS aims to help facilitate the Royal Canadian Navy’s efforts to deploy ships in tough environments across the world and keep crewmembers safe during operations.
Irving Shipbuilding currently supports Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy.
