Authentic8 has updated its virtual browser to validate users with government-issued common access cards in efforts to help address federal customers’ demand for added CAC functionality.
The company said Thursday its Silo virtual browser will be configured with the Defense Department‘s public certificates.
“Support for CAC authentication ranked high on our customers’ list of requested enhancements,” said Authentic8 co-founder and CEOÂ Scott Petry.
Silo verifies users that attempt to access sites that require CAC authentication and Authentic8’s proprietary encrypted protocol works to facilitate all communications between the browser and local devices.
The cloud-based browser is designed to help administrators gain full oversight of user activity and maintain the chain of custody of user data, the company noted.
Authentic8 estimates that more than 40 agencies use the company’s Silo, Toolbox and Cloud Storage platforms each day.
