The U.S. Navy has awarded a $20.5 million contract option to Motorola Solutions for life cycle sustainment work on the military branch’s enterprise land and mobile radio systems.
Motorola Solutions will provide radio equipment preventive maintenance, asset and configuration management, password management and software update installation services for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command’s Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Ashore Program, the Defense Department said Thursday.
The company will also work to respond and resolve service calls for corrective systems maintenance over the option period.
Work will take place at various Navy installations worldwide through December 2017 and the military branch will obligate the full amount of the option from its fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance funds.
DoD added the exercised option brings the total potential value of Motorola Solutions’ contract with the service branch to $41.1 million.
