Louis Berger will work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers‘ Institute for Water Research to identify strategies to address water resources management challenges in the country under a potential $47 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The company said Thursday that contract covers most aspects of USACE’s Civil Works missions and extends Louis Berger’s support for the USACE IWR to more than 15 years.
Louis Berger has collaborated with IWR on efforts to study, strategize, analyze, plan, communicate and consider policy related aquatic ecosystem restoration, flood risk management, recreation, water supply, navigation and regulatory issues.
Raed El-Farhan, a Louis Berger senior vice president and head of the company’s global water market sector, said the company will continue to support IWR’s work to address water infrastructure challenges and help address the country’s water supply requirements.
The company also supported IWR senior economists on the development of the Civil Works Regional Economic System for USACE to estimate the regional economic impacts of the organization’s expenditures.
