D-Wave Systems will unveil additional details of its latest quantum computing platform that features a new 2000-qubit processor at an inaugural users group conference Wednesday and Thursday in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
D-Wave said Tuesday the processor has doubled the amount of qubits from the previous D-Wave 2X system and introduces control features that work to configure the quantum computational process.
Jeremy Hilton, senior vice president for systems at D-Wave, said the control features serve to drive application performance.
The company’s investor base includes Bezos Expeditions, BDC Capital, DFJ, Goldman Sachs, Growthworks, Harris, International Investment and Underwriting, In-Q-Tel and Kensington Partners.
“Our focus is on delivering quantum technology for customers in the real world,” said D-Wave CEO Vern Brownell.
Brownell added the company works to add new features that support machine learning applications and develop software tools that facilitate commercial applications for quantum technology.
