healthcarePelican Products‘ Pelican BioThermal division has launched a thermal care transport container that is designed to help military personnel carry whole blood units in the battlefield.

The company said Tuesday its Golden Hour Medic container works to help combat medics transport blood and other lifesaving supplies as well as maintain required temperature for 24 hours in harsh environments and up to three days in normal conditions.

Kevin Lawler, vice president of worldwide sales at Pelican BioThermal, said Golden Hour Medic is designed to keep blood temperature at around 39 degrees Fahrenheit through long distance travels.

Pelican BioThermal offers single-use and reusable temperature-controlled packaging products for blood banks, hospitals, emergency medical technicians and first responders.
