PAR Technology subsidiary Rome Research Corp. will provide teleport commercial satellite services to the Global Information Grid facility located in Lago Patria, Italy as well as other remote sites under a five-year, $13.6 million contract with the U.S. Navy.
The Department of Defense uses GIG to receive, manage, store and relay data to military commanders, policymakers and support personnel during national security and intelligence community missions, PAR said Tuesday.
GIG is also designed to support military bases, posts, camps, stations, facilities, mobile platforms and deployed site locations as well as interface with coalition, allied and non-DoD systems.
Matthew Cicchinelli, president of PAR’s government business, said the company aims to support warfighters and their missions through the contract.
