General Dynamics has added an optional virtual local area network feature to the company’s suite of encryption technology offerings designed to secure networks and data against cyber threats.
The company said Tuesday the VLAN feature of the TACLANE family of encryptors will work to help users simultaneously send and receive Layer 2 and High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor data through a single encryptor.
General Dynamics also seeks to help customers simplify routing processes, address bandwidth efficiency issues and secure communications in the event of system or network failure with the VLAN technology.
VLAN is also designed to aid in customers’ migration to the National Security Agency‘s Ethernet Security Specification, the company noted.
