Roboteam‘s North American business unit has appointed Heidi Shyu, former U.S. Army assistant secretary for acquisition, logistics, and technology, to serve as a member on the company’s advisory board.
Roboteam said Tuesday acquisition veteran Shyu brings experience in systems development and acquisition to help the company and its customers address national security threats.
“We are delighted to have the chance to draw upon the unique perspectives and insight of Ms. Shyu,” said Shahar Abuhazira, CEO of Roboteam North America.
He added that Shyu will support the company’s mission to provide veteran-designed unmanned tools to the military and first responders.
Shyu also serves on The Aerospace Corp.‘s board of trustees and has held various leadership roles with the Army, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and Hughes Aircraft.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of New Brunswick and master’s degrees in mathematics and systems science from the University of Toronto and University of California in Los Angeles, respectively.
Roboteam designs and manufactures multipurpose unmanned platforms and controllers to help support defense, law enforcement and public safety operations.
