BlackBerry‘s latest operating system and its multi-OS enterprise mobility management platform have received the Defense Information Systems Agency‘s Security Technical Implementation Guides approval for use across the Defense Department.
BlackBerry said Tuesday the STIG approval certifies its BES12 platform and BlackBerry OS 10.3.2 for smartphones as compliant with efforts to help government agencies and organizations prevent cyber attacks.
“Security is one of the top priorities for our government customers,” said David Kleidermacher, BlackBerry chief security officer.
“BlackBerry believes that security should be an enabler of productivity and collaboration in both the public and private sector.”
BES12 offers an end-to-end approach to security that helps organizations support various devices, applications and data across the iOS, Android, Samsung KNOX, Android for Work, Windows, Mac OS X and BlackBerry 10Â platforms.
