Boeing‘s Insitu subsidiary has landed a one-year, $40.7 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from U.S. Special Operations Command to provide Mid-Endurance Unmanned Aircraft Systems intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance services.
The Defense Department said Friday SOCOM will obligate $40.7 million from fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds for individual task orders to be fulfilled worldwide.
DoD noted the sole-source contract works to provide continuity and avoid interruption of ongoing services before a new follow-on contract can be developed for competitive acquisition.
The department added the award includes firm-fixed-price and cost reimbursable line items.
Information services company Insitu offers unmanned systems, command and control systems and other software and services.
