A Northrop Grumman subsidiary based in Germany has worked with Saab Aerosystems to develop a navigation, flight guidance and control system for an unmanned combat air vehicle prototype that flew over France, Italy and Sweden in flight tests.
Northrop Grumman LITEF helped build the Attitude and Heading Reference System for the nEUROn drone that a six-country cooperative developed as an experimental, stealth platform to help build and test technologies for future unmanned combat aircraft, Northrop said Monday.
France acts as the leader for the nEUROn program that has Dassault Aviation as the prime contractor and also includes government and industry partners from Greece, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
LITEF’s LCR-100 AHRS system was designed to give testers access to the drone’s navigation information and is certified under technical standards in Europe.
