NICE Systems has unveiled a new digital policing software program the company designed for deployment on a Microsoft-built cloud computing platform for government agencies that is certified by an FBI division for use by law enforcement agencies.
NICE said Tuesday it built the NICE Investigate software to help law enforcement agencies organize evidence acquired from digital technologies in an effort to expedite case investigation processes.
The software company noted that it aims to help investigators build their cases with evidence from sources such as body cameras, closed-circuit television, in-car video, interview recordings and crowd-sourced data.
“Digital policing initiatives are flooding police departments with valuable evidence that needs to be collected, stored, and analyzed in an efficient and timely manner,†said Chris Wooten, NICE Systems executive vice president.
Law enforcement agencies will have access to NICE Investigate via Microsoft’s Azure Government cloud platform, which is compliant with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services division’s standards.
NICE explained in a video the software also works to separate the case investigation process into public, private investigation portal and prosecution portals for law enforcement personnel.
