Stacy Clark, marketing manager at Verizon, believes the adoption of cloud computing has spurred job opportunities for cloud-savvy information technology professionals.
Clark wrote in a blog article published Dec. 19Â that the IT role is shifting to the need for cloud skills from the traditional requirements for hardware maintenance and software management.
She believes companies need IT individuals with cloud computing skills to “develop a strategy and governance plan based on the enterprise’s objectives, application requirements and workload needs.â€
Cloud computing professionals will also be able to help enterprises assess cloud providers, manage migration from legacy equipment to a new system, work with lines of business on product and service development to deploy business initiatives, and position the company to seize opportunities, Clark writes.
“As IT professionals continue to harness cloud computing to drive transformation, it’s clear that IT professionals must be equipped with the necessary cloud skills (and know the right questions to ask) to effectively adopt, implement and manage a cloud solution,†she says.
