northrop-Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman has unveiled a new cybersecurity innovation facility that will develop tools and collaborative programs to help organizations address computer security risks.

The Advanced Cyber Technology Center aims to connect Northrop technologists and partners worldwide to bring new cyber defense offerings in the market, Northrop said Wednesday.

Executives discussed the cybersecurity hub’s goals during a news conference Wednesday at the National Press Club.

“Through the ACTC, we can collaborate across our global presence to develop strategic capabilities that address a variety of customer and mission needs,” said Shawn Purvis, vice president and general manager for the cyber division of Northrop’s information systems business.

Vern Boyle, Northrop Grumman Information Systems cyber division technology director, added, “The ACTC is a new way of combining expertise from a force of more than 2,400 cyber professionals with an array of intellectual property from key partners across the government, industry and academia to address our customer’s toughest cyber challenges.”

Northrop’s Cyber Academy also demonstrated a cyber warfare training session to show how professionals could accelerate the process of identifying and mitigating a network intrusion.

The company says ACTC will have regional collaboration centers in Virginia, Maryland, Australia and the U.K.
