IBM has developed a new portfolio of OpenStack-based cloud computing offerings intended to help organizations connect on-premise and hosted information technology systems.
The IBM Cloud OpenStack Services suite is available on the company’s online store and allows customers to implement applications through the Softlayer cloud infrastructure, IBM said Tuesday.
“Today’s announcement further demonstrates IBM’s commitment to bring OpenStack to the enterprise and assist clients in finding additional value in an open-standards based cloud approach,†said Angel Diaz, IBM vice president of open technology and cloud performance solutions.
The program offers government agencies and other enterprise clients a range of hardware configuration modules based on open standards, as well as seeks to help organizations access managed services from IBM’s cloud data centers worldwide.
The company also announced the availability of its object storage-as-a-service offering for the firm’s Bluemix open cloud development platform.
