Damian Whitham, senior director of cloud computing solutions at General Dynamics Information Technology, said research data helps the organization to align its cloud service offerings with government customers’ needs, FedPulse reported Tuesday.
He told FedPulse reporter Susan Rose the firm commissioned an online survey of 150 IT professionals across multiple federal agencies to find out agencies’ progress and challenges in cloud deployment.
“As federal agencies move toward cloud solutions, we wanted to understand the thought process they are utilizing to make decisions about their cloud migration strategies,” he stated.
General Dynamics IT found that agencies need a strategy to balance technology costs and they want system integration partners who can be flexible to help their organizations implement cloud-based platforms, according to Whitham.
He added the research provided an opportunity for the company to share its technology experience and insights to help government IT personnel reduce cloud computing risks.
“We are using this information to frame our message, show our customers that we have the breadth to address their top priorities in moving to the cloud and start some thought-provoking conversations,” he told the publication.
Whitham also believes that educating clients could help them meet develop strategies and processes to fulfill their cloud migration goals.
