Vormetric‘s data encryption offering has been recognized by SC Magazine Europe’s SC Europe 2014 Awards as ‘best’ in the encryption solution category based on its features, implementation results and user feedback.
Vormetric Transparent Encryption is designed to encrypt data and manage access by process, user and time, among other parameters, as business data grows and becomes increasingly mobile, the company said Wednesday.
Paul Ayers, VP for EMEA at Vormetric, noted that there are both inside and outside threats to business data, with cyber attacks, espionage and the insider threat’s changing profile.
“Today the threat from within has morphed beyond the disgruntled or rogue employee to now include malicious privileged insiders or those who are compromised by advanced malware typical of Advanced Persistent Threats,” he said.
The Vormetric encryption offering is expected to operate across data centers, virtualization, cloud and big data environments to manage user access to data.
