Boeing is developing a self-running carriage for travelers to reach short-distance destinations in an airport, Wichita Business Journal reported Wednesday.
Daniel McCoy writes Boeing recently moved to obtain a patent for the automated vehicle intended for persons with mobility issues.
Boeing would design the vehicle to receive gate information and carry one to two passengers to pre-determined places in the airport, according to the report.
The cart would feature sensor systems in order to prevent accidents, the Business Journal reports.
The carriage could potentially eliminate the need for airport attendants to help people around who possess mobility issues.
