FireEye_logo_EMFireEye has added an application that works to protect Android-based devices from malware into the company’s Mobile Threat Prevention platform.

The company said Tuesday the hybrid-cloud-based FireEye Mobile Security App will work to provide real-time visibility into existing mobile threats in the network through signature-less apps analysis to block and alert users to unsafe apps.

“Mobile security, like advanced persistent threat attacks, is a top security issue in enterprise today, yet it has largely relied on traditional defenses,” noted Manish Gupta, senior vice president of products at FireEye.

FireEye highlighted the additional features Mobile Threat Prevention platform, including on-demand apps analysis against a database, threat scores and behavioral information and varied enforcement options against threats.

The FireEye Mobile Security App is scheduled for release by the end of June, FireEye said.
