Accenture will work to help U.K.-based water and wastewater services provider Thames Water integrate digital technologies into business systems in an effort to monitor assets through real-time data analytics.
Accenture initiated a pilot program in September 2013 to track and evaluate technology integration outcomes using smart grid services at Thames Water facilities until March 2015, Accenture said Thursday.
Suleman Alli, managing director of Accenture’s U.K. water utilities industry group, said the company intends to help Thames Water address changing service demands and weather pattern fluctuations through technology convergence.
Accenture is working with Space-Time Insight and TIBCO Software to conduct the pilot program for Thames Water by implementing analytics systems for remote asset monitoring and sourcing.
The utility plans to use the data from the program to predict outages and respond to incidents.
