The U.S. Army‘s Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command has adopted a Textron Systems product for personnel to collect, analyze and share socio-cultural data during missions.
“The software has the ability to ingest random, disconnected cultural cues and events and transform them into predictable and actionable portraits of potential activity,” Steve Overly, senior vice president and general manager at Textron Overwatch Intelligence Solutions, said Wednesday.
AXIS Pro is built to provide environmental awareness to users and regional combatant commanders, the company said.
Textron has distributed 15,700 copies of the software to Army personnel since the first deployment in 2009 and the Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command will provide 5,600 copies to its personnel.
Both the Army and Marine Corps hold an unlimited licenses for the product.
