Inmarsat has become a member of a machine-to-machine trade association that aims to promote connectivity among global M2M providers and users in the industrial and consumer sectors.
Inmarsat also joined the newly-established International M2M Council to help companies search for new business models, the company announced Tuesday.
“We think it’s absolutely crucial to build awareness of satellite networks among companies looking to deploy new business models that are dependent on maintaining connectivity with assets, no matter where they are located,†said Joel Schroeder, Inmarsate director of M2M program.
Schroeder added that his company is acting as a sustaining member of the council.
“Our global network offers real-time IP data and ‘store and forward’ services designed for machine-to-machine connectivity,” he said.
