CenturyLink has won a potential two-year, $8.5 million contract to design, plan and install a telecommunications system for the Marine Corps in Quantico, Va. and Washington.
The company said Wednesday that it will also work to support Marine Corps tenants such as the Navy Criminal Investigations Service and Marine Helicopter Squadron One, which flies the U.S. president onboard a helicopter.
Diana Gowen, senior vice president and general manager of CenturyLink Government, said this is the third time the company has won this contract for voice and data communications services at Quantico.
CenturyLink has worked with the Marine Corps at Quantico for more than 12 years under previous procurements, the company said.
The company’s information technology team will work with more than 20,000 enlisted, officer and civilian Marine Corps personnel at Quantico and the Washington barracks.
CenturyLink will also manage daily operations, technical support, equipment, infrastructure updates and troubleshooting.
