Dell Services Federal Government has won a contract to help the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission build and implement a cloud computing infrastructure for the agency to manage on-premise information technology functions.
The NRC private cloud will be designed to address IT cost and operational issues and help the commission meet federal cloud migration requirements, Dell said Wednesday.
“We“™re focused on helping customers select the right cloud for their unique business needs, including security and compliance,” said George Newstrom, vice president of the Dell Services Federal Group.
“The NRC is a perfect example as it has strict standards and requirements that its systems must support in order to carry out its vital regulatory oversight mission,“ Newstrom added.
Dell will also support NRC’s programs to consolidate agency data centers and update legacy IT systems, the company says.
The company is already helping the commission run data centers and manage IT services under a contract signed in 2011.
