The U.S. Postal Service has implemented an edge artificial intelligence system on the NVIDIA EGX platform to help speed up the process of identifying and tracking packages within hours instead of several days. The distributed edge AI platform, called the Edge Computing Infrastructure Program, emerged from a three-week sprint in 2019. During the sprint, a USPS data scientist and NVIDIA architects identified ways to accelerate the analysis of billions of images of packages each USPS center generates by designing deep learning models.

NVIDIA has launched a cloud-native application framework driven by artificial intelligence that works to rapidly detect cybersecurity threats including malware, phishing attacks and leaks of sensitive data. NVIDIA said Monday that the Morpheus framework is powered by its graphics processing units and designed to identify, capture and execute actions on cyber threats through machine learning.

Carahsoft Technology has added 65 new vendors to its contract with the U.S. Army for computer software and associated hardware deliveries. The company said Tuesday it now has 128 providers under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – Software 2 contract. ITES-SW2 supports the Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions or CHESS program, which aims to help the federal government augment its enterprise infrastructure.

Seagate Technology's government solutions business has launched a supply chain assurance project with the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and its industry partners. “Securing the supply chain and verifying the integrity of devices is of paramount importance to the U.S. federal government," said Mike Moritzkat, managing director and CEO of Seagate Government Solutions.
