A fleet of military production tiltrotor aircraft made by Textron subsidiary Bell Textron and Boeing has flown over 600,000 hours while providing warfighters support to maintain their mission readiness and provide transportation for cargo and personnel. The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey aircraft’s range, speed, maneuverability and logistical capability provide warfighters with versatile and cost-effective service, Bell said Wednesday.

Boeing has been awarded three foreign military sales (FMS) contracts, valued at more than $800 million, with the U.S. Air Force for training services and support in the Middle East. “The tailored training and sustainment delivered by our team, coupled with Boeing’s platform expertise, allows us to deliver a holistic solution,” said  Tim Buerk, director of Middle East defense services for Boeing.

Boeing has been awarded a $477 million performance-based contract from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to provide supplies, full supply chain management and logistics services, the company announced Tuesday. “Boeing’s supply chain management and distribution capabilities will help ensure parts are accessible whenever and wherever they are needed based on their use," said John Guasto, director of global integrated services support.

Boeing and France-based Safran have unveiled a new joint venture to design, develop and service auxiliary power units or engines used to start aircraft and related systems while on the ground. Etienne Boisseau will serve as CEO of the new JV, Initium Aerospace, which will operate in San Diego to build APUs in collaboration with Boeing and Safran teams on production and engineering, Boeing said Wednesday.
