Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., was recognized by the Boy Scouts of America’s National Capital Area Council as its recipient of the Technology Good Scout Award in 2003, when he was still serving as the governor of Virginia.

The lawmaker is part of the Senate Finance, Banking, Budget and Rules Committees and serves as chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence. Warner worked as governor from 2002 to 2006, during which Virginia was named among best states for business, management and public education. Earlier in his career, he spent two decades as a technology and business leader in the area.

He is also one of several Good Scouts who are also recipients of Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 Award, an annual selection of the most influential voices in the government contracting arena.
