5 Contractors to Provide NGA With GEOINT Analytic Services; David Gauthier Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Five companies will compete for delivery orders under a five-year, $29 million contract to provide the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency with analytic services aimed at addressing economic-related geospatial intelligence challenges.

BAE Systems, Ball Aerospace, BlackSky Holdings, Continental Mapping Consultants and Royce Geospatial Consultants will deliver capabilities that leverage artificial intelligence, machine-learning and nontraditional GEOINT sources, NGA said Wednesday.

According to the agency, the acquisition is meant to support monitoring efforts to examine the economic impact and trade trends affecting financial markets, scarcity and military capacities around the world. The information collected will be included in GEOINT platforms for immediate analysis and streamlined access.

David Gauthier, director of source commercial business and operations group at NGA, said understanding the economic activity and trends worldwide is important to legislators.

“This contract represents a transition from government imagery analysts exploiting raw imagery to integrating commercial analytic services that can quickly provide answers,” he said.
