Tech Industry Vet Steve Handel Named VirTra Program Management VP - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Steve Handel, a nearly two-decade technology industry veteran, has joined training simulator provider VirTra as vice president of program management.

He will oversee the implementation of multiple development projects in his new position, the company said Tuesday.

Prior to VirTra, he led the development of the TASER 7 Conducted Energy Weapon at Axon Enterprise. Handel held positions at Rolls-Royce, Honeywell and the aerospace business now known as Collins Aerospace.

He spent nine years at the U.S. Air Force and worked as a lead project engineer for the F-16, C-5M, Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures, T-38C and T-6A programs.

The registered project management professional is a Six-Sigma Green Belt holder.
