Parsons has led a cyber contest for University of Maryland students in an effort to improve the cybersecurity skills of the future workforce.
Approximately 50 students enrolled in the Advanced Cybersecurity Experience for Students program at the university’s Honor’s College participated in the Capture the Flag Cybersecurity Competition held Oct. 23, Parsons said Wednesday.
“Our outreach to college and high school students provides a vital link between universities and the workplace, which is needed to ensure that students have the necessary skills to meet future demands,” said Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons group president.
The competition called for three teams of students to launch a cyber attack on a bank, perform malware analysis and decrypt codes.
The participants also underwent mentoring sessions with the company’s cyber intelligence and operations sector professionals during the contest.
