Informatica has introduced a data security intelligence software offering intended to help customers protect sensitive information and recover from data breach.
The Secure@Source tool is designed for users to identify and analyze information in order to prevent data theft using a data security approach, Informatica said Wednesday.
Anil Chakravarthy, executive vice president and chief product officer of Informatica, said the company aims for the software offering to help companies “keep data in the hands of the people who should have it.â€
Chakravarthy cited analyst estimates that major data breaches of the past two years have cost more than $445 billion worldwide and lessened “confidence in retailers, financial institutions, healthcare organizations and beyond.â€
Organizations will be able to perform their data security and privacy responsibilities to all stakeholders by “identifying the location and risk of sensitive data and leveraging data intelligence analytics,†Informatica says.
Informatica Secure@Source features automated systems, graphical interface and a reporting ecosystem for data risk assessments, classification and discovery, proliferation analysis and policy-based alerting.
The software product is scheduled for release as a subscription-based offering by the end of April.
