 CA Technologies has invested $207,000 in new technologies developed by students from Swiss universities Wcole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne and Haute Ecole d’Ingenierie et de Gestion du Canton de Vaud.
The investment is part of a five-year program that kicked off in 2013 to support STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education at the Swiss universities, CA said Tuesday.
“We are very excited to be working with both the EPFL and HEIG-VD universities to further develop students’ technology skills that are needed in the application economy,” said Bjarne Rasmussen, chief technology officer and senior vice president of EMEA region at CA Technologies.
Bjarne Rasmussen, a CA SVP, will join the board of a master degree program as part of the initiative.
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland developed the program that begins in September 2015.
HEIG-VD students will visit CA Technologies’ research and development facilities in Silicon Valley in 2015 as part of their degree course.
