Ian Pilcher, formerly vice president of business development at Olive Group, has been appointed director of commercial accounts at Sterling Global Operations and focus on the commercial oil, natural gas and mining industries.
Pilcher, a retired British army officer who served in Northern Ireland, the Balkans and North Africa, will be based in SGO’s London office, the company said Monday.
Pilcher said SGO seeks to expand its logistics and risk management support work in the areas of demining and unexploded ordnance removal.
Pilcher previously worked as managing director at G4S Oilfield Services and regional manager for West Africa and consulting director at ArmorGroup.
He is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the British Army Command and Staff Course.
