BoeingLogoMichael Arthur, a thirty-year British government veteran, will join Boeing Co. as president of the company’s U.K. and Ireland business.

He will succeed Roger Bone, who will retire in September, Boeing said Wednesday.

“(Arthur) will continue to build our presence and collaboration with our partners, customers, employees and communities across the U.K.,” said Shep Hill, president of Boeing International and senior vice president of business development and strategy.

“Michael brings to this role immense experience in international government affairs from his time in the Diplomatic Service as well as valuable experience with the private and not-for-profit sectors,” added Hill.

Arthur will begin work on Oct. 1 and aim to expand Boeing’s business reachin the U.K. and Ireland.

He previously served as British ambassador to Germany from 2007 to 2010 and High Commissioner to India from 2003 to 2007.

Arthur also led the implementation of ministerial policies as member of the Foreign Office Main Board since 2001.
