TYSONS CORNER, VA, January 21, 2020 — The Federal Aviation Administration  Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) to upgrade a system that helps airport personnel manage the arrival and departure of aircraft, GovCon Wire reported Wednesday.
Raytheon has produced a sense-and-avoid radar technology for drone testing operations at Ohio's Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport. The airport will use the system to trial the safety of small drones at tests that would take place within a 200-square-mile facility, the company said Tuesday.
The Air Traffic Control Association has recognized Raytheon’s standard terminal automation, modernization and replacement system team for modernizing a system designed to help the Federal Aviation Administration and the Defense Department manage terminal area airspace.
