Health Resources and Services Administration Posts Solicitation for Evidence-Building, Evaluation Support Services IDIQ

The Health Resources and Services Administration has launched a full and open competition for the procurement of evaluation and evidence-building services to support its bureaus and offices. The resulting indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will support evaluations, descriptive research studies, policy analyses, capacity assessment and program performance monitoring, according to a solicitation posted Monday on SAM.gov.

Aerojet Rocketdyne Unveils Materials Chemical Testing Laboratory in Arkansas

Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies subsidiary, has opened a new laboratory at its Camden, Arkansas, site to expand its solid rocket motor materials chemical testing capabilities supporting defense programs. The Camden laboratory provides 5,200 square feet of space to enable the company to move pressurized gas cylinders manually, install additional tensile testing stations and add an upgraded ventilation system for better airflow, L3Harris said Monday.

AFRL Directed Energy Directorate Issues Tactical Broad Agency Announcement

The Air Force Research Laboratory has released a five-year broad agency announcement describing the research areas of interest of the directed energy directorate. AFRL will issue standard and topic area group call announcements against the Tactical BAA to seek proposals for specific research initiatives upon identification of technical requirements, according to a SAM.gov notice published Wednesday.

Hughes Director James Clevenger on LEO Satellite Connectivity, Hybrid Networks

James Clevenger, director of government sales at Hughes Network Systems, said government agencies transitioning to the General Services Administration’s Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract should consider deploying low Earth orbit satellite connectivity to expand their broadband capacity and transport options. In an opinion piece published Friday, Clevenger wrote that LEO satellites have the capability to deliver low latency connectivity in remote locations, supporting videoconferencing and other latency-intensive applications.

RENK Systems Wins Navy Contract for CH-53K Helicopter Test Stands

RENK Systems, an Indiana-based industrial test systems developer, has won a $49 million contract to develop three test stands for the CH-53K King Stallion helicopters of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
